I am still in the process of developing my website and my ideas about singularity. One result is that this glossary is less than comprehensive.
ART
Experiments with language which challenge preconceptions pertaining to the objects of said language; as the moment of actual saying interrogates and modifies that which has become the said – the world. Cognitive re-creativity of the singular.
ACTUALITY
The state of pure under-standing. As reality is to objects in time and space, so actuality as the actual state of non-spatial singularity – pure under-standing.
ACTUALLY
Pertaining to pure under-standing. Normally used in conjunction with the word as. (Note that to say that something ‘actually is…’ imposes existential limitations on the text and is therefore counter productive to any discourse on actuality.)
ACTUATION
A momentary component in the theoretical structure of temporality of any alter-verse, which the constituents would experience as a moment in time.
ALTER-ENVIRONMENT
An OTHER(NESS). A constituent of any environment of under-standing.
ALTER-VERSE
The generic name for any n-versal environment of under-standing.
AS (also WITH-AS)
Prior to phenomena appearing ‘in space’ there is no thing – not even the word IS. With the word AS we try to negotiate the idea of a singular environment of pure under-standing (actuality). To maintain the possibility of the dynamic relatedness of otherness one must be as the other.
COMMON BEING.
under-standing with otherness which constitutes a moment of spacetime. a thing.
ELEMENTARY MOMENT
The containing moment of any alter-verse.
MYSELF-VOID-OTHERNESS
The impossible condition of alterity that would be-come the individual -an alternative singularity – were it not always already the next moment of under-standing.
MYSELF
The contraction of myself-void-otherness. Myself is that which we are and which rarely glimpses its ownmost understanding-with things.
MOMENT
The relational dynamic of under-standing. The liminality of one instant and the next. (Moment is the crucial binding of reality with actuality)
REALITY
Spatio-temporal conditioning of the actual state of singularity or under-standing
SPACE
That mode of under-standing as which we comprehend things. Space is a condition of the singular state of under-standing.
SIGN
Signifies a thing after it becomes a linguistic object.
SYMBOL
Symbolises a pluri-dimensional array of its constituent things all of which are not necessarily linguistic objects.
TRI-VERSE; TRIVERSAL
the basis of everything. the least possible configuration of a spacetime thing as a condition of the state of under-standing.
TEMPORALITY
the singular environment of understanding, which the constituents experience as spacetime.
UNDER-STANDING (differential understanding)
The actual state of things for which each constituent alterity stands under the others as them. Inasmuch as they are the substance of its ownmost comprehending each stands under the others. The singular state of which all forms of alterity are but a condition.
VIA NEGATIVA – VIA POSITIVA
an ancient Christian teaching, the basic tenet of which is an unknowability of God, who can only be approached in love – through the body as much as through the mind of the individual. By love, the soul enters into union with God, a union not infrequently described through the metaphor of ecstatic sex. The via negativa was eventually dominated by the more familiar via positiva of today, a method of affirmation that describes positive, human attributes such as Good and All-Knowing to the image of a transcendent God.
